1929 Ford Model A Fordor Sedan

The 'Leatherback' model was the first Fordor Sedan available on the Ford Model A chassis. It had a 'two-window' pebble-grain artificial leather roofline and was devoid of rear quarter windows. Briggs produced these bodies in a leased corner of the Highland Park Ford plat. They became available in mid-May of 1928 and continued into 1929, after which a 'three-window' design was adopted for future Model A Fordors.

This particular example was acquired by Richard Roy from John Schramm, of Rockland, Maine. Mr. Schramm purchased the car with 39,999 miles on the odometer. In 1951, it had 33,500 miles, which means it was driven just 6,000 miles in a half century.

Much of the body retains its original bramble Brown finish. The fenders appear to have been repainted some time ago. The Seal Brown pebble-grain artificial leather top covering appears original, as does the nickel trim. The mohair interior is similarly original and in good condition.
