1967 Dodge Dart Series Navigation
The Dodge Dart, introduced in 1963, was the company's answer to the rapidly increasing Detroit compact-car competition. It rode on a wheelbase of 111 inches and there were three levels of trim, the 170, the 270, and the GT. The base model was the 170 and featured rubber floor mats. The Dodge Dart 270 was given upgrades to its carpeting, upholstery, and trim. The top trim level was the Dart GT, which featured bucket seats, a padded dashboard, and wheel covers.
Two engines were originally viable for all three trim levels, including a 170 CID or 225 CID slant-6.
For 1967, the Darts were given new styling while riding on the same chassis as the 1966 models. They were a half-inch shorter than the prior-year but appeared to be larger. Dodge claimed that the Dart had turned into a sporty machine for the new model year, with the available V8 engines and the selection of 12 body styles (6 of those could be fitted with the V8 engine). 19 exterior colors and a new dual master cylinder braking system were also new features.
The Dart 270 Series remained as the intermediate trim level. They had a Deluxe two-spoke steering wheel, full horn ring, vinyl interior trim, and carpeting. The GT was the top trim level and had special GT emblems on the roof 'C' pillar and chrome rocker panel trim. Pricing began at $2,500 for the hardtop coupe and $2,730 for the convertible.
This particular Dart GT Convertible is powered by a 273 CID V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It has a black interior, a black convertible top, rare factory air conditioning, factory tachometer, remote mirror, original gauges, original push-button AM radio, original wheel covers, and correct Redline tires. Currently, the odometer shows 58,434 miles.By Daniel Vaughan | Feb 2016
