1971 Mercury Montego Cyclone Hardtop Coupe

This 1971 Wood Brothers Mercury Cyclone was driven by David Pearson, A.J. Foyt, Parnelli Jones, Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison from 1970 thru the 1973 NASCAR season. The car remains just as it was when it left the winner's circle after having won the American 500 at Rockingham in 1973. This 1973 Mercury Cyclone won 11 of the 19 races won by the Wood Brothers during the 1972-1973 seasons with David Pearson driving. It also took 13 of the 19 pole positions won by the Wood Brothers in the 1970-1973 seasons with David Pearson, A.J. Foyt, Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison driving. It has an original Boss 429 Ford Hemi engine that was built in 1973 by Tommy Turner at the legendary Holman Moody shop in Charlotte, NC. The car was prepared and tuned by the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee, Leonard Wood. This Purolator Mercury is now displayed at the Woods Brotehrs Museum in Stuart, VA. It has the original Boss 429 Ford Hemi engine that was built by Holman Moody and tuned by 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee, Leonard Wood.
