1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Coupe

This is the school bus yellow Bud Moore Boss Mustang #15 driven by Parnelli Jones to the 1970 Trans-Am Championship. It was the last of 12 serial-numbered Kar Kraft Mustangs. Subsequently, the car was delivered to and further prepared by Bud Moore. It was then driven by Parnelli Jones for the last two races of the 1969 Trans-Am Series. Although originally intended to be one of two backup cars, '777' became the primary car driven by Parnelli Jones in the 1970 Trans-Am season. '775' was intended to be the primary car that had a new three-link rear suspension design but Parnelli set faster times in '777.' Parnelli drove it in all eleven qualifying sessions and nine of eleven races in 1970. In thirteen races as a Bud Moore team car, its qualifying record is seven pole positions, three second and three third positions. Parnelli drove it to three of his five 1970 Trans-Am victories and earned 40 of his 58 driver championship points in it to win the 1970 Trans-Am Championship. The car appears today as it did in 1970 at Mid-Ohio where Parnelli drove it to its 3rd victory and Ford's 4th straight victory that season.
