1934 Morgan Super Sport Roadster

The Morgan V-Twin Super Sports was the best performer in the Morgan line. It was a result of Morgan's extensive motorsports experience in the 1920's & 1930's. This example was dispatched from the MMC in April of 1934. It was used for years, as intended, as a good reliable and inexpensive transport. In 1954, Paul Dobson purchased this trike from Mercury Motors for 115 GBP. He was 19 at the time and the Morgan was his ride. He owned and used the Morgan for 32 years. In 1986, it was imported into the US and sold to Alan Moss. Moss was the founder of Moss Motors, one of the largest suppliers of British car parts in the world. Alan restored the car from the frame up and then proceeded to take it racing. The car was raced in the Monterey Historics, as well as other venues for 17 years. Alan retired from racing in 2006, selling the car to Larry Ayers, and the current owners purchased it from him. This is one of only five Morgan SS Matchless powered beetlebacks in the United States.
