1934 Bentley 3.5-Liter Navigation
This Bentley was ordered in early 1934 by Hon. Miss Dorothy Paget of Buckinghamshire but soon relinquished her order. In 1934, another individual from Cheshire, Mr. Thomas Ayrton Stuttard (a successful textiles businessman) took delivery in April of 1934. He commissioned coachbuilder Barker to build a sports saloon body which was completed in June of 1934. During World War II, the car was put 'up' at the owner's country home in Wales. It returned to service in 1947 and his ownership continued until June of 1959 when he sold it to a banker in Lancashire. The new owner sold it in 1976. After three Americans, the current owners became owner number six (August of 2001). The car was restored to its original condition with the assistance of the son of the original owner and the second owner who provided guidance and photographs. The car is powered by a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine developing 115 horsepower coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission and capable of about 90 mph.
