1910 Buick Model 17 Tourer

    1910 Buick Model 17 Navigation
This was the largest Buick built in 1910 and features a 318 cubic-inch 4-cylinder engine coupled to a 3-speed sliding transmission. Buick was one of the first to feature overhead valves. The 'valve in head' design is prominent with the exposed push rods and rocker arms. The oil can on the dash was standard equipment and the operator's manual instructs the driver to stop and lubricate every four hours. This car spent most of its life in New England. It was repainted in the late 1940s and used on many Glidden Tours up into the 1960s. The engine was rebuilt for touring and a new top was fitted. The upholstery remains mostly original.
