1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Series 101 Sprint Roadster

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta, during its conception, was given the '750' series number, denoting vehicles with a 1290cc engine and four-speed transmission. It was given a new designation in 1959, becoming the '101.' This new name denoted an extended wheelbase along with a few cosmetic changes. Perhaps the biggest change was to a die-cast cylinder block instead of the original sandcast component. In 1962, the 1600 Giulia Spider series '101.23' was born as the next generation of the Giulietta Spider series 101.03. They were nearly identical except for the existence of an air intake on the bonnet of the Giulia, the words '1600' could be found on the tail of the latter and for the shape of the holes in the wheel rims.

The Giulia Spider remained in production from 1962 through 1965 with a total of 10,341 examples produced worldwide. Of these, 8,850 examples were of the Giulia Spider 'Normales.'
This particular example is a 1600 Spider Normale. It has been given a recent restoration.
