1989 Porsche 911 Slantnose Convertible

This 911 Turbo SE ('Flat Nose' or 'Slant Nose') Cabriolet is one of just 147 US 1989 examples and one of less than 30 with open coachwork.

The development of 'Project 930' was spurred by the Group 4 homologation rule that required 400 road cars to be built. In October of 1974, Ernst Fuhrmann officially unveiled the first Turbo production model. It featured a KKK turbocharger fitted to a completely reworked 3-liter engine, resulting in 260 horsepower in road trim. The Turbo models had flared wheel arches and 'tea tray' rear spoiler, carried over from the Carrera model. In 1978, the engine was enlarged to 3.3-liters, gaining an intercooler in the process, and boosting horsepower to 300 BHP (265 BHP for US models).

The racing 935 models had pioneered the 'slant' or 'flat' nose appearance, which was soon in high demand from 911 customers. Kremer Racing began offering a conversion service that was later taken up by the factory's own Customer Department for special order (Sunderwunschen) in 1981. It became an official Porsche option in 1986. 930s equipped with modified panels were modeled after the 935 race car. The converted front wings were steel, incorporating cooling vents and pop-up headlamps (early examples had them in the air dam). Extra cooling intakes could be found ahead of the rear wheels. Inside, the modifications continued in the form of full leather, air conditioning, and special electrically adjustable and heated Recaro seats.

This Turbo Slant Nose Cabriolet example was delivered new in Grand Prix White over black leather. It had an original window sticker totaling over $116,000. It was owned by Andre Agassi who kept the car until 1996 when it was sold to its next owner at The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation. The 930S is believed to have been sold through a Connecticut dealer and eventually found its way to Canada in 2007. From 2007 to 2015 it was primarily used as a show car, covering approximately 1,000 miles in the 9-year span, prior to being acquired by the current owner. It has won many awards including Best in Class and Best in Show.

Currently, the odometer shows less than 35,000 miles. The interior has been professionally converted to red. It currently wears a European front bumper/spoilers and a set of custom CCW wheels. The American bumper/spoiler and black Fuch wheels accompany the car. It has its original toolkit, compressor, manuals, and Andre Agassi title.
