Ferrari introduced the 550 Maranello in 1996 in an effort to revive their line of grand tourer. Six years later, in 2002, they introduced the 575M Maranello, which offered a host of updates, and an increase in engine displacement by 250 cubic centimeters, resulting in a total of 5748cc. Horsepower and torque both rose, and top speed was now 202 mph. The weight distribution was now an optimal 50/50. The front end was revived with updated headlights and a restyled air intake and front spoiler. Buyers could now outfit their vehicles with an F1-style gearbox, which proved to be a very popular options. To cope with the increase in power, the 575M gained larger disc brakes.
This particular 575M Maranello example is one of the few that was given the traditional six-speed gated manual transmission. It was delivered to Cauley Ferrari in West Bloomfield, Michigan, in May of 2002 and was sold to the first owner the following month. The car left the factory finished in Blue Tour de France over a cuoio interior. The second owner acquired the car in 2008 and imported it to Canada, where it was sold to its third owner in November of 2009. The previous owner purchased the 575M in the spring of 2013.
This car has an aftermarket exhaust system, though the original set is still with the car. It has its original books and pouch, tool set, spare key, and Ferrari car cover. It has been driven just 4,511 miles since new.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2016
