1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Navigation
This Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is one of 383 Super Sport models completed by Alfa Romeo immediately after World War II. The finished chassis was bodied by Carrozzeria Touring in the summer of 1947 and dispatched to the Alfa Romeo distributor in Portugal for its first owner, Carlos F. Alsina Saruya of Estoril. His family owned the car for nearly six decades until, in 2006, it was acquired by a German enthusiast who had the car comprehensively restored in its original color scheme. Following its three-year restoration, the car was shipped to the United States and was later shown at the San Marino Motor Classic in 2018, where it was named Best in Show - Post War. 2019 was its first visit to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Alfa Romeo introduced an updated version of their six-cylinder model in 1939, increasing the displacement size to nearly 2.5 liters. Among the four models of the 6C 2500 offered, the Super Sport variant had a shorter wheelbase and fitted with the more powerful triple-carbureted engine. By the time production came to a close in 1951, Alfa Romeo had produced approximately 383 examples of the Super Sport.

This particular example is one of approximately 14 Super Sports produced in 1946, and has had just two owners over the course of its life. It has been given a recent comprehensive restoration.

The car was completed on December 27th of 1946, and then sent to Touring for coachwork. The bodywork features prewar dual-bumper design, faired-in fog lamps, and the classic Alfa Romeo grille.

Upon completion, the car was dispatched on June 18, 1947, to a Portuguese Alfa Romeo distributor, Mocar Lda. of Lisbon. It entered into the care of its first recorded owner, Carlos F. Alsina Seruya of Estoril, Portugal, later that year. It would remain in his family for nearly six decades, before coming into the car of its current German caretaker in 2006. In January of 2007, a three-year full restoration began. The car was finished in its current light gray color with blue interior. An electric fuel pump and additional cooling fans were added to the engine to improve reliability.

The restoration was completed in July of 2010. It was soon shown at the German Concours d'Elegnace where it claimed a First in Class award. It was shown at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 2011.

The car has a six-cylinder dual overhead cam engine displacing 2443cc and fitted with Triple Weber carputers. It has a four-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
