1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Coupe

The Pininfarina-designed Ferrari 308 GTB served as a replacement for the Dino 246 and accommodated the angular Bertone-designed 308 GT4. The first 712 examples were the first Ferrari road cars clothed in fiberglass - Vetroresina - with future cars formed from steel to the end of 308-series production in 1985. Power was from a mid-mounted, all-alloy, four-cam V8 engine fitted with a quartet of twin-choke Weber carburetors and initially offered 252 horsepower in European-market trim.

This particular example is from 1976 and is one of the few (approximately 450 LHD) examples originally equipped by Ferrari with competition-type dry-sump engine lubrication. It was purchased in July 1976 by Paolo Poli of Cremona, Italy. Ownership passed to at least one subsequent Italian owner before its April 1985 purchase by Roger J. Hansen of Ponte Vedra, Florida, who imported it to the US. EPA clearances were eventually obtained in 1989 via Werner Pfister of Danbury, Connecticut's Miller Motorcars. After its importation to the United States, the odometer was converted from the original metric unit to one calibrated in miles.
