1998 Jaguar XK8 Navigation
Jaguar introduced the XKR grand tourer car in 1998. The XKR started its life as the Jaguar XK8 (project code X100), which was launched in 1996 as the first generation of a new XK series. The XK8 was available in coupe or convertible body styles with the new 4-liter Jaguar XJ V8 engine. In 1998, the XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. From 2003, the engine was replaced by the 4.2-liter AJ34 engine in both the normally aspirated and supercharged versions.
The car was featured in the James Bond Movie, 'Die Another Day'. The XKR's gadgetry included a Gatling gun, thermal imaging capabiliti3es, mortar bombs, rockets under the front grille, miniature missiles hidden in the door, and front ramming spikes.
