1940 Buick Series 60 Century Touring Sedan

All 1940 Buicks received sealed beam headlamps and this was the final year for side mounted spare tires. This was also a banner year for the Company, experiencing its best production year in its history.

The entry level Buicks were the 'Special' Series 40 while the prestigious 'Limited' Series 80 and 90 models were some of the finest cars on the market. The 'Century' Series 60 models were Buick's middle-range offering.

The 1940 Buick Century was available in five different body styles which including a Touring Sedan, Convertible Phaeton, Convertible Coupe, Business Coupe and a Sport Coupe. The engine was the same Overhead Valve unit found in the Series 70, 80, and 90. The Dynaflash eight-cylinder, 320.22 cubic-inch unit offered 141 horsepower and was mated to a three-speed sliding gear transmission.

This particular example is a Touring Sedan with 10,000 actual miles. It has had several owners through the years and has been well maintained both cosmetically and mechnaically. It has been repainted once.
