1922 Ford Model TT One-Ton Truck

Ford produced the Model TT chassis from 1917 until 1925, allowing buyers to make arrangements to install their own truck bed for whatever specific purpose they required. The Model TT's were rugged, low cost, reliable, and had ease of maintenance.

This particular example was purchased new by George M. Evey for his one-man milk delivery business in Altoona, PA. It wears a body that was probably installed by an Altoona-area body/cabinetry manufacturer. The truck was one of the six Evey's Dairy delivery trucks still in service when the dairy went out of business in the early 1960s.

This Model TT was later found by Paul Adamczyk. It had been abandoned in an old hay barn. Mr. Adamcyk purchased it from the Evey family in 1973 and had it parked in a family garage where it remained untouched until late 2015. It was then cleaned and transported to the Swigart Museum for display.

The engine is a 177 cubic-inch four-cylinder gasoline engine that develops 20-22 horsepower. It has a top speed of about 45 mph. There is a 10-gallon fuel tank and the vehicle achieves about 20-25 mpg.
