Your eyes are drawn to the prancing stallion - always the stallion. Today it's a global icon, recognized from chic salons to steamy paddocks the world over. From fast tracks to the world's 'fast lanes' the Ferrari stallion ooozes luxury, power, wealth and speed. Yet, it wasn't always so. Ferrari's storied heritage dates to 1929 when Enzo Ferrari founded Scuderia Ferrari - 'Ferrari Stable' to build race cars. It wasn't until after World War II that he built his first road cars, and only then as a somewhat reluctant concession to fund his beloved, but expensive, racing efforts.

Testarossa, 'red head' in Italian, is a nod to the mid-engine's red cam covers. The 4.9 liter flat-12 boasts four valves per cylinder, a dry sump, and 9.3:1 compression. It can accelerate in 5.2 seconds from 0-60 and tops out at 180 miles per hour courtesy of 390 horsepower. Ferrari debuted the Testarossa at the 1984 Paris Auto Show as the Pininfarina designed successor to the smaller Berlinetta Boxer. The iconic side strakes mask large side intakes that feed air to the two rear-mounted radiators. The strakes were necessitated in several countries that outlawed large side openings. The intakes draw in air to cool the side radiators, but also make it wider at the rear, thus improving handling.

This car was originally purchased in 1989 by a retired Air Force General. The current owner searched for two years for a yellow Testarossa, finding this one in New Jersey in 2011.
