1990 Lancia Delta Integrale Hatchback Sedan

Lancia has long enjoyed an illustrious tradition of rally racing, and the Delta is the most successful model ever to compete in rallying. It dominated the World Rally Championship from the late 1980s through the early 1990s. It was first shown eat the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979; a five-door hatchback designed as an upscale, front-wheel-drive small family car, and styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign. The Delta included features not too common in this segment; fully independent suspension, air conditioning, and even adjustable steering wheels and split-folding rear seats.

Racing homologation requirements meant Lancia had to market road-going versions of competition cars in order for them to be legal to race. A special Delta HF Integrale AWD 'hot hatch' with a turbocharged gas engine was offered. Race-prepped versions of this model dominated the World Rally Championship, scoring 46 WRC victories and taking home the Constructors Championship for six consecutive years from 1987 to 1992.

The current owner purchased this car in 2015 in Yorkshire, England, after it was finally made legal to bring to the United States. It had been purchased new and owned for many years by Michael Mol, owner of the F1 Force India/Minardi team and former CEO of Spyker Cars. It features a 2.0L 16V, DOHC turbocharged and inter-cooled engine with 200 horsepower. Its AWD - better for rally racing - with 53% of the power going to the rear wheels and the balance to the front. Yet, in true Lancia tradition, the exterior is relatively understated.
