1959 Chrysler 300E Convertible

Beginning in 1955 Chrysler offered a special high-performance automobile called the '300' for its impressive 300 horsepower. As the years progressed a letter was added to the name so that by 1959 the car was called the 300E, and the models were now referred to as the Chrysler 'Letter Series' cars.

This 300E Convertible is powered by a 413 cubic-inch V8 engine with dual 4-barrel carburetors producing nearly 380 horsepower. The 300E Convertible came with a leather interior, self-seeking radio, cruise control, auto-dimming mirrors, and many other luxury features. Total production of only 140 units makes this car one of the rarest of all the 1950s special custom-bodied convertibles. The 300E added a sporting flair to the realm of open-topped cruising long before the advent of the term 'muscle car' even entered the American automotive vocabulary.
