1937 Brough Superior Dual Purpose Drop Head Coupe

1937 Brough Superior Navigation
Brough Superior was said to produce the 'Rolls-Royce Motorcycles,' built in Nottingham, England, from 1919 to 1940. In the latter half of the 1930s, Brough built around 85 motorcars powered by 8- and 6-cylinder Hudson engines on a Hudson chassis.

This is one of 50 Brough cars that have survived. It has a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine, and its body is by the W.C. Atcherly Coachworks of Birmingham, which built all of the Brough Superior Dual Purpose Coupes. The Dual Purpose Coupe has a fully enclosed drophead with a patented folding mechanism that allows the top to disappear completely. This is the only known Brough Superior motorcar in the United States, the only one registered with the Classic Car Club of America. It spent much of its life in Wales and Scotland, then was found by an American oilman who brought it to the United States.
