1949 Delahaye Type 135 MS Coupe

Two Delahaye models were available after the war, the Type 135 M with a single Solex carburetor and the 135 MS (Modifiee Speciale) with triple carburetors giving 125 horsepower and a top speed of around 100 mph. Total production between 1946 and 1952 for both types was 1,155.

This Delahaye 135 MS was finished by Letourneur et Marchand and delivered to an owner in France, where it stayed for several years. It then passed to Belgian collectors Baudouin Dejaiffe and then J.M.H. Caris in 1994. Mr. Caris was a collector and operated a body shop. He refinished the car upon receipt. Later that year, the Delahaye was invited by the Minister of Transport of the State of Malaysia to Kuala Lumpur for the 50th Anniversary of the Monarchy of Malaysia. After participating in the classic car rally, it was shown with another 250 classics from around the world. The car proceeded to win 1st in Class, Mayor's Trophy, and Best in Show. The current owner purchased and imported the car in March 2015. Although the car has never received a body-off restoration, it was freshened in early 2016.
