The Porsche Speedster, over the course of its 58 year lifespan, has offered enthusiasts with a blend of unique styling and top-of-the-line performance. This 2011 Porsche is based on the 997 Carrera and features handcrafted build quality, luxury appointments, and impressive performance.
Porsche commemorated the 25th anniversary of the 'Porsche Exclusive' program in 2011, a workshop that was responsible for the customization and limited-series production of such memorable models as the 930 Flachbau, the 964 Turbo S, and the 993 Turbo S. In celebration, 356 cars honoring the original 356 Speedster were built. The resulting 997 Speedster was given the wide body from the all-wheel-drive Carrera, and fitted with a shorter windscreen and rear-cowl fairings. Power was from the company's larger 3.8-liter engine, and enhanced with a variable intake manifold good for 63 bhp more than a standard Carrera and 23 bhp more than the Carrera S. Equally impressive to its style and performance was its sticker price, which was $204,000. The only vehicle priced higher in the 911 model lineup was the GT2 RS.
This particular example was completed on April 29th of 2011 and was finished in Carrera White paint over a black leather interior. It was given a seven-speed paddle-actuated PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the Sport Chrono Plus package, active suspension management, ceramic composite brakes, a locking limited-slip differential, front and rear air dams, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. Amenities included a 385-watt Bose sound system, dynamic cornering lights, sport steering wheel, multi-way electronically adjustable seats, cruise control, and climate control.
This Speedster was delivered to John Perlich of Coronado, California in June of 2011. It remained with Mr. Perlich until early-2016.
This car is capable of racing from zero-to-sixty mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. It is one of just 100 examples imported to the United States.By Daniel Vaughan | Oct 2016
