1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Coupe

The Aston Martin DB6 had a similar appearance to the DB4 and DB5, however, underneath the body, it was a very different vehicle. This particular example was delivered to the United States Aston martin distributor Kjell Qvale's British Motor Car Distributors of San Francisco. The car was completed on December 5th of 1965 and delivered three days later.

This DB6 Coupe was one of the first 100 examples off the line, and one of less than 200 exported to America. The car was ordered from the factory with nearly every option available at the time, including Normalair air conditioning, heated rear screen, front seat safety belts, and a power-operated aerial.

In the fall of 1991, the car was offered for sale in the San Francisco area. It was listed as a single-owner vehicle in 'original, unrestored' condition. The car was purchased for a private Japanese collection. The car was given a complete restoration and then exported to Japan in July of 1992, where it remained until returning to California.

The car is finished in Aston Green with a green leather interior. The engine is a dual overhead cam six-cylinder unit with triple SU carburetors and offering 282 horsepower. There is a five-speed manual transmission and four-wheel Girling disc brakes.
