1949 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck

Chevrolet's 2100 Series was the 1/2-ton light-duty commercial pickup in the company's lineup. For 1949, there were few exterior changes over the preceding post-war Advance Design models. Inside, they had a wider bench seat with improved cushioning. Under the hood, Chevrolet's Blue Frame valve-in-head inline six-cylinder engine was given larger exhaust valves and a Rochester Power-Jet carburetor.

This particular example has been given a comprehensive frame-off restoration. The 235 cubic-inch Loadmaster engine is rated for 92 horsepower at 3400 RPM, thanks, in part, to its single-barrel Rochester carburetor. The engine is mated to a three-speed manual transmission with a column-mounted shifter.

This pickup features the optional chrome-finished five horizontal bar grille with a Chevrolet crest on the alligator-style hood. The chrome continues to the bumpers and bumper guards.

The ventilated cabin features a gray leather-upholstered bench seat. The bed was refinished with new oak wood and topped with stainless-steel straps and hardware. The truck rides on steel wheels with Chevrolet-logo hubcaps and wide whitewall tires.
