1977 Porsche 911 Coupe

The first-generation of Porsche Type 930 Turbos were produced from 1975 through 1977. They had exaggerated fender flares and a large rear deck spoiler. Power was from a turbocharged three-liter air-cooled engine that delivered is power through a strengthened four-speed manual gearbox. Many examples were fitted with an optional limited-slip differential.

727 examples of the North American-specification Turbos were built and sold for the 1977 model year. This particular example left the factory in December of 1976 wearing Silver Metallic (Z2) paint with a black leather interior and Black Watch Tartan seat inserts. It was fitted with tinted glass, electric windows, air conditioning, power-adjustable and heated outside mirrors, high-pressure headlight washers, and a rear window wiper. Additional options included Sports seats, a 40-percent limited-slip differential, electric sunroof, Blaupunkt stereo, and Pirelli high-performance tires

The car was sent to Don McGill Porsche-Audi in Houston Texas and purchased by Thomas Purtill of Houston on February 18th of 1977. The next documented owner was a Midwestern performance car collector who appears to have acquired the car in September of 2006. He had the car sent to Willow Automotive Service of Chicago for inspection and servicing.

The car was later offered for sale and purchased by Bruce Canepa who later sold it to its current caretaker.

The car currently has just 16,698 original miles on its odometer. It rides on 16-inch Fuchs light-alloy wheels, with new tires, with painted center caps. It has its original tool roll, jack, spare tire, air compressor, and factory Owner's Manual and Warranty Book in a maroon vinyl slipcase.
