1953 Chevrolet Model 3100 Truck

Chevrolet's all-new Advanced Design pickups were introduced in 1947. One of the more prominent feature of the advanced design was the cab, which was roomier and larger, a full 7 inches longer and 8 inches wider, with enough room for a three-passenger bench seat. The seat was adjustable to accommodate almost any size driver. The cab was mounted on a three-point suspension system for a softer ride, and was welded rather than bolted together to enhance its overall strength. The windshield was larger, as were the doors, which allowed easier entry and exit. The cargo beds used steel sides and wood floors with steel skid strips for easy loading.

This Chevrolet 3100 5-window pickup is finished in Cape Maroon and rides on wide whitewall tires with accessory wheel trim rings with new hub caps. The cargo bed has a wood floor with polished stainless-steel stripes. It has a chromed front and rear bumpers and guards, grille bars and window surrounds with stainless window trim, chromed outside mirrors and exhaust deflector. Power is from a 235 cubic-inch inline-6 cylinder engine offering 92 horsepower. There is a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission.
