1997 Nissan Rasheen Navigation
This Nissan Rasheen was in production from 1994 through 2000. It was a small SUV that was first shown as a prototype at the 1993 Tokyo Auto Show. Power initially came from a 1.5-liter, GA15DE-code engine which offered 104 horsepower. The Rasheen shared its platform with the Nissan Sunny (known as the Sentra in the North American market). It came standard with Nissan's ATTESA viscous coupling system, which sent torque to the wheels that needed it based on traction conditions.
In 1997, the Rasheen received a larger 1.8-liter engine which brought horsepower to 125 HP. This was followed in July of 1998 by an optional 2.0-liter, 143 HP engine in the Rasheen Forza edition.
The Nissan Rasheen was never marketed outside of the Japanese Domestic Market. When production came to a close in 2000, the Rasheen was replaced by the X-Trail. The current generation of the X-Trail is sold in the United States as the Rouge.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2016
