1936 Fiat Topolino 500 Hardtop Coupe

In 1899, Giovanni Agnelli along with a group of investors formed the Societa Aninima Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili - Torino (FIAT). FIAT, which is now Fiat, has evolved into a large multi-national conglomerate. In 1936, they introduced a new 'baby' Fiat named the 500 'Topolino' which was the smallest mass-produced car of its time. A 569cc engine powered the small two seater which had a 6.5-inch wheelbase.

Produced from 1936 through 1955, over 122,000 examples were produced. The 500 name has continued to be used, along continuously since 1936, and has changed many times over those many years.
