1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic Eighty-Eight Holiday Hardtop

Oldsmobile introduced the Jetstar nameplate in 1964, adding it to the Eighty-Eight lineup. It was the new entry-level Eight-Eight model which made moved the Dynamic Eighty-Eight further up in the lineup. The Dynamic Eighty-Eight was comprised of six bodystyles include two station wagons, a sedan, convertible, and a 2- and 4-door Holiday Hardtop. The base engine was a 394 cubic-inch V8 engine which offered 280 horsepower. Standard equipment included automatic dome light, courtesy and map lights, padded dash, carpeting, foam rubber padded front seat, and chrome side moldings.

Over 167,600 examples were produced which helped the 88 continue to be the company's best-selling model. As the 1960s continued, the market was changing and moving towards high performance vehicles, which meant the 88 was being left behind. The 88 had been a strong performer when introduced with the Rocket V-8 engine. Now, Oldsmobile was shifting emphasis to the F-85 lineup which included the Cutlass.

This particular example is an unrestored car with just 37,000 miles on its odometer. Its optional equipment includes factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, Deluxe wheel covers, W/W tires, radio and Hydra-Matic transmission. The car is powered by a Rocket V-8 engine displacing 394 cubic-inches and offering 280 horsepower.
