The late-production Silver Wraiths came with a 4.9-liter six-cylinder engine and other features such as an automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, and power steering. This particular example is one of those late-production models and is the final Silver Wraith delivered to a customer.
This Rolls-Royce was ordered in 1957 by Enrique Godoy of Havana, Cuba. His order requested blind rear quarters for a more private rear compartment, 'increased capacity' air conditioning ducted through the roof, monograms on the rear doors, and the most unusual feature, a factory roof rack, intended for continental touring. It was also specified with Lucas P100 headlamps.
While the car was being built, the Cuban Revolution began, and completion and delivery was held up. The car was finally delivered to its original owner in Miami, Florida, in June of 1960.
Subsequent owners include Donald and Robert Lehmer of Chula Vista, California, in 1977; Avelina Matamoros of La Mesa, California, in 1978; and Kirk L. Hanigan, also of La Mesa, in 1986. The current owner had the car completely restored, including a bare-metal body repaint in Tudor Grey with a Shell Grey insert. The odometer currently shows just 49,006 miles.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2016
