1936 Chrysler Imperial Airflow C10 Coupe

The Chrysler Airflow was introduced in 1934 and models were built through 1937. Its all-modern design used a steel unibody on frame construction. The 323 cubic-inch straight-eight which produced 130 horsepower was placed over the front axle. The back seat sat in front of the rear axle. The resulting ride was better balanced and more comfortable than its competitors. Its streamlined styling was a glimpse into the future of all cars but came along too soon for much of the buying public. The Imperial Airflow sat on a chassis six inches longer than a standard Chrysler Airflow. Only 242 Imperial coupes were made in 1936 and very few survive today.
