1965 Prince R380 Navigation
Prince developed a mid-engine layout for the R380 based on the success of Porsche's 904 which had beaten them in the 1964 Japanese Grand Prix.
The R380 was to participate in the 1965 Japanese Grand Prix which was canceled. The car was then used to break five E-class land speed records in late 1965.
The car is powered by a 1966 cc in-line 6-cylinder fitted with Weber 42 DCOE carburetors producing 200 horsepower coupled to a 5-speed Hewland transmission. This car defeated Porsche to win the championships in the 1966 Japanese Grand Prix and another R380 came in 2nd.
