The Lagonda name was resurrected in the mid-1970s and applied to a four-door Aston Martin V8 sedan. It had 'razor edge' bodywork by William Towns, and it rested on the same long-wheelbase V8 chassis as its immediate predecessor. The interior featured ground-breaking electronic instrumentation and switchgear.

By the end of 1978, production had hit its stride and one car was being completed per week at the Newport Pagnell factory.

This particular example was completed at the Newport Pagnell Aston Martin Lagonda factory during the fall of 1983. It was delivered new to the United States market. The car was originally finished in Mercedes Midnight Blue with its original colored interior as shown today. The original owner was Emich Oldsmobile Inc of Lakewood Colorado, an official Aston Martin Lagonda franchise dealer. Mr. Fred Emich, CEO of Emich Oldsmobile Inc, kept this car within his personal collection from 1984 to 1989. It is believed that Mr. Emich sold the car in 1989, but then took it back in 1991. He retained the car until August of 1992, at which point he traded it to Stevenson Lexus, who in turn sold the car to its third owner; Mr. Isao Kamitani. Mr. Kamitani kept the car from 1992 to 2013. Since then, it has been in the care of its current owner.

This Series 2 Lagonda has 59,000 miles on the odometer. The 5340cc dual overhead cam V8 engine is fitted with four Weber 42DCNF carburetors and produces nearly 290 horsepower. There is a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and 4-wheel power-assisted disc brakes.
