1910 Ford Model T Fire Tender

This 1910 Ford Model T Fire Tender was offered for sale at the 2007 Christie's auction of 'Exceptional Motor Cars at the Monterey Jet Center.' It is finished in red with read seat, wheels and fenders. It has a 176.7 cubic-inch engine that produces 22 horsepower. Braking is by a contracting band on the transmission, which is a two-speed unit plus reverse, epicyclic transmission. The running gear for this Fire Tender is circa 1910. It is complete with siren, lights, hoses, and bell tanks. There are even matching helmets. There is an abundance of brass work that includes head, side and tail light.

At auction this car was offered without reserve and estimated to sell for $15,000 - $30,000. It has had a restoration, though it appears the work was centered on the vehicles cosmetics and little attention was made for its mechanical components. It has resided in storage for a length period of time, meaning it will probably require proper servicing before it is suitable for driving operation. This was one of the earlier cars to cross the auction block and it quickly found a new owner for the sum of $33,000 including buyer's premium.
