2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider Convertible

The entire production run of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione coupe was pre-sold in a mere 14 days. Just 84 Alfa coupes made it to the United States.

Inspired by this positive response, Alfa Romeo introduced the production Spider at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. Similar to the coupe, just 500 Spiders were built, with just 35 destined for the United States. They too sold out in short order.

The Spider shared the bespoke carbon fiber construction and mechanical traits of its 8C coupe predecessor. It was engineered by Alfa Romeo, assembled by Maserati, and powered by Ferrari. The Ferrari-built DOHC V8 motor offered 444 horsepower.

The Spider was slightly heavier than the coupe, with weight gains partially offset by a carbon fiber windshield surround, an electronically operated double-layer fabric soft top, and the fitting of Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs all around. The result of these changes was a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.

This particular example is finished in Red Metallic paint (a $6,000 option) with an Alfa Red leather interior. It currently has 950 miles on its odometer. It is currently in the care of its second caretaker. It is complete with its tool kit, charger, emergency kit, emergency kit, owner's manual, window sticker, central storage compartment, and fitted, leather overnight bag. Other options include GPS, auxiliary floor mats, and '8C' interior stitching.
