2006 Aston Martin DB9 Convertible

Aston Martin unveiled the DB9 at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. Power was from a third generation of their 6.0-liter, V12 engine giving the DB9 a top speed of 186 mph. It was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture. This setup used Superformed parts in the foot-well and chassis as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminum elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone.

Along with incredible performance the DB9 wrapped their occupants in luxury, with Bridge of Weir leather, aluminum and wood. Customers were given the choice of walnut, mahogany or bamboo.

This particular DB9 Volante was delivered new to Arthur Gelfand of Bernardsville, New Jersey, by Ray Catena Aston Martin of Edison. Mr. Gelfand owned the car through 201, when it passed to another dealer and then, the following year, into the current owner's care.

This DB9 Volante is finished in Ghillies Green Pearl paint and Kestrel Tan interior. The odometer shows just 14,718 miles. The engine is a 362.176 cubic-inch dual overhead cam aluminum V-12 engine offering 450 horsepower. There is a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and four-wheel carbon-ceramic disc brakes with ABS.
