The 1994 Type 964 Speedster was initially offered without wide-body rear fenders, unlike the 1989 Speedster. Both the 1989 and 1994 Speedsters were built in similar fashion to the original 356 Speedster, having just two seats, a lower rounded windshield, and a fiberglass tonneau cover. Air conditioning and a stereo were options on the 1994 Speedster, but overall it was void of nearly all comforts found on the Carrera 2 Cabriolet.
