1988 Porsche 944 Turbo Coupe

In 1985, Porsche introduced a turbocharged version of the 944, boosting horsepower from 150 to 220 BHP. Along with the turbocharger, the 944 received an integrated front bumper, a strengthened gearbox, 911 brakes, a different final drive ratio, and streamlined aerodynamics.

In 1988, power was boosted even further with the introduction of the Porsche 944 Turbo S. It came with 250 horsepower, 100 more than the standard 944. This increase was made possible by a larger K26-8 Turbo and revised engine mapping, allowing the full boost until 5,800 RPM. To help cope with the increase in power, the 944 Turbo S came with 928 S4 front brakes, stiffening brackets on the front frame rails, and adjustable Koni shocks. The S package also received anti-lock brakes, a limited-slip differential, and power front seats.

For 1988, Porsche built 1,635 examples of the Turbo S.

This particular example has just 39,000 miles on its odometer. The car was completed at the factory on May 4th of 1988 and was delivered to its first owner in Utah on August 9th of 1988 with 104 delivery miles. The car had been optioned with the sport suspension package, headlight washers, protective side moldings, a rear window wiper, cruise control, California emissions, and an electric sunroof.

The car is finished in its original Maraschino Red Metallic paint and light grey leatherette interior.
