1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Convertible

This 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was offered for sale at the 2007 Christies auction of 'Exceptional Motor Cars at the Monterey Jet Center.' It has a Roman Red livery with a red interior and a black top. Under the bonnet is a V8 engine that displaces 283 cubic inches and can produce 230 horsepower. The gearbox is a four-speed manual and drum brakes can be found at all four corners. When the car was purchased new, it carried a sticker price of $3,872 plus additional options. This car includes options such as radio, whitewall tires, heater, air-conditioning and defroster.

This car has been treated to a restoration and has resided in a European collection since the 1980s or early 1990s, where it was on display in a museum. It was not running at the time of auction, offered without reserve, and estimated to sell for $55,000 - $100,000. The selling price just barely met the estimated value, and the car was sold for $55,000, including the buyer's premium.
