1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Coupe

This 1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Coupe was offered for sale at the 2007 Christies auction of 'Exceptional Motor Cars at the Monterey Jet Center.' It is powered by a V12 engine angled at 60-degree's, equipped with single overhead camshaft per bank, and triple twin choke Weber carburetors. There is a five speed manual gearbox, 320 horsepower, and a top speed of about 150 mph. The 365 GT 2+2 pioneered the self-leveling rear suspension technology on a Ferrari road car. The styling was penned by Pininfarina and combined the front end of the 500 Superfast and the rectangular styling of the one-off 330GTC Speciale show car.

Production lasted from 1967 through 1971 with a total of 800 examples being produced, accounted for half of Ferrari's road car production during that time.

This example, with chassis and engine number 12305, is in great condition and been given mechanical and cosmetic updates throughout its lifetime. A tan interior was installed in 1995 and the refresh paint job in 1990. It has spent most of its life in California or Nevada and is rust free. It is a European example equipped with Borrani wire wheels and air-conditioning.

At auction is was estimated to sell for $90,000 - $125,000. A high bid of $99,000 was good enough to satisfy the vehicles reserve, and the car was sold.
