This 1986 Lotus was designed by the renowned and most prolific designer of his time, Giorgetto Giugiaro.
In April of 1986, Lotus introduced the HCI variant (for the U.S.), teaming the Higher Compression engine with Bosch KE-Jetronic Fuel Injection and a catalytic convertible - the first Fuel-Injected Esprit was born.
With a total 1986 U.S. production of 215 and just a handful of Esprit's built and designed as HCI models. This particular car won 1st place at the 2014 Detroit Autorama, taking the Foreign Sports Category, and having the better of Prosche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari.
