1928 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8 AS Imperial Landaulet

At one point, Isotta Fraschini was the most expensive foreign automobile sold in the United States; the price of a Tipo 8A exceeded even that of a Duesenberg Model J. Many of these automobiles were bodied with the most luxurious coachwork, as on this example - a regal Castagna-built Imperial Landaulet, which was delivered to the marque's New York offices on Park Avenue and sold to a Mrs. Lynch, who also lived on Park Avenue. All Isotta Fraschinis were built with right-hand drive, which made them popular with chauffeurs who could more easily open the curb-side door for their employer. Another feature is a system whereby passengers can signal to their chauffeur regarding their preferred speed and direction utilizing a panel of buttons on the right of the steering wheel. The current owners acquired this automobile over 50 years ago.
