This unusual Ferrari Spyder California is the 34th example of the 50 Long Wheelbase Spyder Californias built. Completed in December 1959, it featured covered headlights and was one of the first to be fitted with disc brakes. It was ordered by Luigi Innocenti for his son Carlo, the grandson of the founder of Innocenti SA and Lambretta motor scooters. Innocenti was a good customer and a close friend of Enzo Ferrari, so he was allowed to order his cars with unique details, such as flush door handles and other specially fabricated features done in a brushed satin finish. Later the car was sold to Piero Drogo in Modena before Luigi Chinetti brought it to the United States in the early 1970s. Its past owners here include actor Nicolas Cage. It has been cared for by its present owner for the last 10 years.
This Ferrari was freshly restored by The Pit Stop in 2016 and has been previously shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
