The current owner of this Packard 1201 Convertible Victoria acquired it in 2007 from an East Coast Packard collector. It is finished in burgundy and has a tan Haartz cloth convertible and boot and rides on cream-colored wire wheels. Its restoration is older yet it has held up well through consistent maintenance and yearly detailing. It is driven regularly with no issues. The interior has been fully restored; the upholstery is finished in a caramel motif and a dark brown carpet. The dashboard features simulated wood grain with Art Deco-inspired gauges that are jewel-like in appearance.
The Convertible Victoria was a Packard catalogued body designed and built by Dietrich and sold new for $3,100, a few hundred dollars over the standard factory body. In the front is Packard's tall and impressive grille, complete with the Goddess of Speed hood ornament that is flanked by bullet headlights finished in chrome.
Dietrich hinged the doors at the rear, allowing for easy entry and exit. There is a floor-mounted three-speed shifter and a 320 cubic-inch, 130-horsepower engine.By Daniel Vaughan | Sep 2017
