1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Roadster

Alfa Romeo's legacy dates back over a century when it was founded by Alexandre Darracq in Milan. By 1911, they entered two entries in the Targa Florio. Racing and competition has been part of the company through the years with victories at many of Europe's most famed tracks including the Mille Miglia and Le Mans. This competitive engineering helped the company build some of the best road cars in the world.

This particular example is a 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Spider 750F that has been fully restored to factory specifications. It is a rare example with the newer type 101 body, and fitted from the factory with a 750 Veloce specification engine.

The history of this vehicle begins in 1960 when it was imported to Hoffman Motors. It was then purchased in 1962 by a radio DJ named William 'Weird Beard' Vermillion of station WLOF in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Vermillion drove the car for a decade before putting it into storage where it resided until 2009.

When it emerged from storage, it was a complete car with nearly all of its original parts. The car was then restored and finished in Alfa Romeo Rosso Chiaro Red. It is a period correct example that rides on Pirelli CA67 tires with correct Boranni wheels. The interior is light beige vinyl with red piping and rubber floor mats.

The engine is a 1,290cc dual overhead cam four-cylinder unit fitted with dual Weber 40 DCO3 carburetors. The 90 horsepower unit is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
