1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupe

Lamborghini celebrated their Silver Anniversary with the introduction of the 25th Anniversary Countach. It served as the successor to the 5000QV and as the car's triumphant final iteration, with more than 500 updates and improvements in all.

Building upon the Countach LP500S (also known as the LP5000S), Italian engineer Giulio Alfieri made upgrades to Lamborghini DOHC V-12 engine that had been developed by Giotto Bizzarini and produced (with modifications along the way) since the early 1960s. The list of updates included an enlarged 5,167cc cylinder block, revised induction system, and four-valve cylinder heads resulting in the Countach 5000QV. The 'QV' denoted the new 'Quattrovalvole' four-valve cylinder heads.

Horacio Pagani spearheaded the design of the 25th Anniversary Countach Edition. Changes included integral front-brake cooling ducts, a slightly raised nose, and a new rear bumper. The radiator air intakes behind the scissor-doors were now body-color and incorporated leading edge strake. The exterior also received lower body claddings. Mechanically, the Countach received updates to the suspension and new Pirelli P-Zero tires. The interior was given power windows, new power-adjustable seats, a new steering wheel, and improved air-conditioning.

In total, Lamborghini built 657 examples of the 25th Anniversary model.

This particular example is highly original and was completed during June 1989 by Nuova Automobili Lamborghini SpA at the company's facilities in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. It left the factory finished in black paint over cream leather upholstery, complete with the optional rear wing and Alpine high-end audio system. It was shipped new to the United States and purchased by Mr. Vitols, a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1990 from authorized Lamborghini dealer F.C. Kerbeck & Sons. Mr. Vitols had purchased the car for the sum of $154,000 plus an additional $66,000 dealer markup.

This car has the original paint and all original upholstery, glass, and trim. In 2015 it received a major service. It retains the original owner's manual and books in their leather storage pouch, toll roll, roadside jack, and spare assembly.
