1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Coupe

This Ferrari 308 GTB wears an early chassis number and is one of the first four examples of the early fiberglass 308 Berlinetta that were exported to the United States. This car's chassis number is the lowest of the four and is often considered the first to be imported. The car was completed in May of 1976 and is approximately the 156th example of 712 fiberglass-bodied 308 GTBs sold worldwide, of which just 100 were specified for North America.

This car was sold in December to John Tutterrow of Los Gatos, California, who retained the car for many years before selling it in 1988 to Chris Springer of San Jose.

Eventually, Mr. Springer conducted a full cosmetic restoration that included repainting the bare fiberglass with a new coat of Rosso Chiaro and re-trimming the interior in correct beige leather with black carpets. During the work, a full mechanical restoration was also performed, and the motor and transmission received a complete rebuild.

After the work was completed, it was shown occasionally, including at the Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance where it achieved a Class Win. In 2015, the car was sold to its current caretaker.

Since 2015, the car has been given a major engine service that included a new water pump, thermostat, cam pulley guides, re-tuned carburetors, and new belts, rings, and gaskets. Currently, the odometer shows 12,341 miles.
