1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Coupe

The Alfa Romeo Series 116 was unveiled in the early 1970s and brought with it a rear-mounted transaxle and a DeDion rear axle. Because this setup was reminiscent of the Alfetta Grand Prix Car, the new Series 116 was named in honor of the championship winner. The early body style was a sedan, followed by a two-door coupe in 1974, dubbed the Alfetta GT. The lightweight and compact coachwork was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and presented by performance and style.

This particular example was completed in December of 1975 and originally retailed through Turner Motors in Sacramento. In May 1976, the Alfetta was sold to its first owner, a Mr. McCullough. It later passed to one interim owner during the 1990s, then to a San Francisco collector in 2005, prior to coming into the care of its current owner.

This Alfetta GT 2000 has its factory glass, trim, headlamp lenses, and decades. Its 1,962cc dual overhead cam four-cylinder engine is fitted with SPICA Mechanical Fuel Injection and delivers 111 horsepower. There is a five-speed manual transaxle and four-wheel disc brakes, with the rear being inboard. Currently, there are approximately 63,000 miles on its odometer.
