This Mercedes 24/100/140 was assembled in Daimler's Untertürkheim factory and delivered to Erdmann & Rossi in Berlin for coachwork. It was given a sporty phaeton body which had a dual pane windscreen and vertically louvered hood.
Upon completion, the stately vehicle was sent to Emil Jannings home in Beverly Hills. It is believed that years later, the car passed to an automotive museum in Rancho Cucamonga circa 1953. In the mid-1960s, it was acquired by Hal Anderson of Fresno, who retained it for over three decades. At some point during the 1950s or 1960s, it was given a cosmetic restoration, including the paint and upholstery.
In 1997, the car was purchased by Harold Owen of Fresno and it remained in his care until his passing.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2017
