1997 Porsche 993 Turbo S Coupe

Porsche produced 176 examples of the 993 Turbo S for the United States market. When compared with the standard 993 Turbo, the Turbo S had a more aggressive front fascia with additional cooling ducts, rear quarter air intakes, and an Aerokit II rear wing. The interior featured aluminum gauge faces, body-color seatbacks, carbon fiber accents, and extensive use of leather. The Turbo S was given larger twin turbochargers, a revised Motronic engine control unit, an additional oil cooler, and an upgraded exhaust with quad outlets.

The engine in the Turbo S offered 424 horsepower and could accomplish zero-to-sixty mph in less than four seconds. Top speed was in the neighborhood of 185 mph.

This particular example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather interior. Currently, the odometer shows less than 9,500 miles. It was optioned with the rear seat delete and rear windshield wiper delete. It was originally shipped to Shelton Porsche of Naples, Florida. It was titled in Florida and then in Illinois before it was sent to California in 1999.

In 2006, a new owner from Texas acquired the car with 8,534 miles on its odometer. The current caretaker acquired the car in 2015 from RPM Sports Cars of Houston.

The car is equipped with a European-specification front bumper without the US bumperettes. A previous owner installed upgraded sport seats with silver seatbacks, speed yellow seat belts, and a complete carbon fiber package with three-spoke steering wheel.
