1914 Regal Model 25 Underslung Navigation
The Regal Motor Car Company was formed in the fall of 1907 by the Lambert Brothers (Charles R., J.E., and Bert) and Detroit engineer Fred W. Haines. Their medium-sized vehicles were positioned in the medium price range and were quickly successful. Along with selling in the United States, Regals were among the leading exporters in the industry, notably in England. Some of the exported models were referred to as the Seabrook-R.M.C.
Through 1914, Regals were powered by a four-cylinder engine that the Regal Company produced. A V-8 and a light four were introduced in 1915, both of which were supplied by the Port Huron Construction Company and had been designed by S.G. Jenks.
For 1914, Regal offered a 108-inch model and a 116-inch model. The 108-inch version was powered by a four-cylinder engine offering 25 horsepower. Body styles include the Model T Touring, a fully enclosed Colonial Coupe, and a roadster. The 116-inch wheelbase version had a 35 horsepower four-cylinder engine and was available as the Model C Touring body style with room for five passengers.
This particular Model T Underslung Touring model is finished in light grey with black fenders and red coach lines. It wears an older restoration. It has a black leatherette top, black button-tufted interior, wooden trim, and wooden steering wheel with brass center hub. Brass accents include the hub caps, step plates on the running boards, headlight rims, and the radiator shell.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2017
